Just me again with a couple of things you should know as we hit the half way part of the season, and with Christmas not far away.

RESTART AFTER XMAS BREAK – Reserve Grades
If you have been keeping yourself up to date on our web site www.united.cricketclubwebsite.com you will know that both Reserve 1 and 2 [Marauders] have finished their competitions for the first half of the season and will recommence on the 10th of January 2009.

RESTART AFTER XMAS BREAK – Seniors
As the seniors are playing in their final round robin game this weekend [20/12/08] they are not due to start their two day campaign till the 17th of January.
However if they win this weekends one day match this will earn them the right to play in the one day final on the 10th of January 2009.

PRACTICE NIGHTS
Training nights for the entire club will recommence on Thursday the 8th of January 2009 at 5:45 p.m.
If you aren’t going away over the Xmas break and fancy a roll-up at the nets please don’t hesitate in contacting Mike [021 2841241] to gain access to the combination of the lock at the nets.

SENIORS’ LAST ONE DAY ROUND ROBIN MATCH
As described above, our Senior A side has done exceptionally well from being last on the ladder a couple of weeks ago to being finalists & title contenders if they win this week.
They are playing at home [complex] against Puke-Metro starting at mid-day and if you are in the area and need a break from Christmas shopping pop down and watch the boys go for glory and try and reach the one day championship final.


DRINKING BAN AT THE COMPLEX
As everyone should know by now, we have a 24/7 drinking ban imposed by the council.
This is a reminder to all, that drinking on the complex site will not be tolerated.
Thankfully all our members have shown their great maturity and not breached this Papakura Council by-law, and we, the committee, thank our membership for that.

However some of our visiting clubs have seen fit to ignore this and have blatantly abused this requirement. To these people, we say the police have and will be continually advised of these happenings and will be seeking prosecutions.


MURPHY’S LAW [at the Jolly Farmer] – Now Open!
At last the bar is open and all members are invited to use these great facilities. Phil Hogan the owner is in the final stages of arranging loyalty cards for us and once these are done, they will be made available to all legally aged members of the club.
Please remember to support our new sponsor and use these cards when you receive one, as the club benefits by them.
It is our only real way of making extra cash to help run our club.
