A wet, soggy ground was what the two teams encountered at the Drury Sports Complex an hour before the match, but that was not enough to dampen their spirits & the two captains were looking forward to a start if there was no further rain. But, the rain gods had it their way & what started as a consistent drizzle, transformed into intense rainfall, resulting in a washout without a single ball being bowled, or for that matter, even before the toss could take place. The two teams had no other option, but to share the points. The only positive out of all this - THE BOYS GOT MORE TIME TO SPEND WITH THEIR VALENTINES ON "VALENTINE'S DAY" !!!

The R1s now travel to Mauku for their last game of the league on Saturday 21st Feb '09 at Clive Howe Reserve, after which the eight R1 teams will be split into two groups of four.
