The Mighty Marauders WIN with Shane O'Neill's 107* and a 171-run Opening Partnership

21 Nov 2009

What a game this turned out to be, they say cricket is a funny game, but not us! Manukau City decided to bat first. An average start saw the visitors 62/4 at one stage, then some powerful mid order batting saw their score rocket to 172/5. Leaving the tail to really wag with 5 wickets falling for just 22 runs. Manukau City all out for 194.

Openers Mike Bongard and Shane O'Neill had probably one of the best opening stands the R2 grade has seen, with a 171-run partnership. Mike (54) and Shane (107*) saw the side to an 8-wicket win over the City, and skipper Timmy had his first win. Well done to all the team and especially Mike and Shane, particularly Shane ! Way to go The Mighty Marauders!
