Facing one of the best teams in the Reserve Two competition, United won the toss and elected to field first. After some very tight bowling to begin with, the home side had a burst of runs, with a burst of regular wickets. Some outstanding bowling from AJ Stewart (8-0-21-0), and Shane Stanley (7-1-22-3) Anuj Walia (8-0-26-3), saw the home team getting all out for 155.
In reply, United had a shock start, with Bongard being given LBW on the very first ball and AJ Stewart and O'Neill both going fairly quickly. Chris Farnell (33 top score for the team) held his wicket until the final over, when he lobbed one behind to be caught at first slip. Tight fielding from the home side saw United Cricket bowled out for 128. Its great to see the new members of the club shaping up well this season with positive results from Farnell, Walia and Stanley.
